Alpha Release of SiNK

Very pleased to announce that I am releasing an alpha version of the tool I am working on, including the source code if you are inclined to play with it. All I ask is that if you do anything useful or interesting, you let me know.

Requirements: Mac OSX 10.6+ and a Kinect with the USB kit.
I do not have any plans or interest in making plans to port it to another system, although if you feel like doing that, be my guest. I'll include your code in the repository and happily promote it.

This is a snapshot of ongoing development, and I'm writing and changing it almost daily. As it stands, this is fully functional Kinect middleware, with a lot of features that make it better for art stuff. If that means nothing to you, think of it as the glue that sits between the Kinect hardware and stuff that does more interesting things. To assist with the "more interesting things" in the coming weeks I will be releasing some companion code for Processing that makes the development of sketches that use SiNK easier.

There is a TON of work to be done on this going forward. Broadly I am focused on:

- Stitching the data of multiple Kinects together to increase coverage

- A plug-in architecture so the system can encapsulate (something... not sure yet... processing sketches or quartz composer...)

- A high level tool for composing 3d interactive spaces in 3d. Perhaps with a mobile component.

- And most importantly: building interactive artworks!
